Let me start by praising the director Tee Bundit, who's been a BL household name since”TharnType”, and whose directing later made actors display their very best performances in series like ”Lovely Writer” and ”Something in my Room”. He also directed one of the best 2023 series, ”I Feel you Linger in the Air”, a true masterpiece, which made it to no. 5 in my 2023 list. ”J&J” is clearly another masterpiece, which makes Tee Bundit my favourite Thai BL director. The second reason why I call ”J&J” a masterpiece is the fact that I've never seen such good acting in any Thai BL series. War Wanarat (Joker) and Yin Anan (Jack) already proved their extraordinary acting skills in the remake of ”Love Mechanics”, but in ”J&J” the complete cast is simply brilliant, from Mark Siwat's wonderfully effeminate character Arun to one of the hottest men alive, Prom Ratchapat's MacGyver-like Tattoo, the ever-lovely Nui Suporn as Jack's grandma, and my very special one-and-only Jenny Panhan, whose character tragically dies, which actually made me very sad. The plot revolves around the on-and-off love story of Joker, black sheep of a rich doctor's family turned master-thief, and Joker, who narrowly missed joining the national taekwondo team and joins loan shark Boss' (Beam Sarunyoo) team of debt collectors. I won't spoil more details of the plot here, as most of you will know it anyway, and if you are still going to watch it for the first time, you'd be angry at me for revealing all the surprising plot twists. This series has it all - funny dialogues, dramatic scenes, love, hate, betrayal, some very well choreographed fights, with a cinematography rarely found in Thai BLs, and a beautiful OST song from Dome Jaruwat.
