Disappointing. I wanted to like this. We know Michael Connelly writes good, compelling LA police stories. "Bosch" is proof they can be turned into gripping, thrilling adaptations. But this fails. It's an OK-ish police drama series, but it is lifeless. The scenes don't work, they lack vitality; and the dialogue doesn't flow, but seems recited. Is it the direction? Cut? Actors? Hard to say, but the result is kind of boring. Not recommended. If you want to see the same setup (misfits working complex cold cases) working, go watch "Dept. Q" instead.
