"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition", but Netflixified. "_You don't need to reinvent the wheel_", said the designer, who made just about the most overly complicated kitchen features ever. It's clear that none of these people understand that, respectfully, kids are effing stupid. Have you heard about the IKEA cabinets that killed children? Well. If there's anything positive I can say, it's that the end results were visually beautiful as individual elements... for the first 3 episodes. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for me to make it through the whole show. I couldn't bring myself to it, as the editing was grinding my gears. I also feel like the designers would've had chemistry, had they not _clearly_ been given exact conversations to have. From the way this was scripted and acted, I felt like I was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on steroids. If this show was to strip off it's "hacks", fake conversations, over-the-top enthusiasm and complex hydraulic press bookshelves, I can see the good bits there. Slap on some organic flow, polish, elegance and slowed down episodes, maybe even asmr, and I believe this would turn out better. Not everyone watching reality is a braindead, tiktok scrolling couch potato. In other words... scrap whatever this is.
