Episode 1
HO TSUN-FUNG and his friend CHEUNG KIN-SING return to Hong Kong for their holiday after their graduation from an American university. FUNG is best known for his wit and intelligence. His mother SHUM SIN-LING wants him to stay in Hong Kong and develop his career while his grandfather HO CHING-HUNG expects him to go to Panyu, China so that he can help oversee the daily operation of the family-owned garment factory. SING’s uncle PANG LAI-SHUN is the Chief Manager of a zoo run by HUNG. He thinks it would be great if SING could join the zoo and work along with him. Despite the persuasion of their relatives, FUNG and SING have decided to return to the States. FUNG and SING go to the zoo in Panyu for a visit, during which a little white tiger is found to have gone missing. FUNG suspects that the white tiger has been stolen by certain members of the circus which are hired to perform in the zoo……
Episode 2
Given that it is a national treasure, HUNG decides to return the bronze dog to the Chinese government. He supports the search for the rest of the bronze animals and MAN is appointed to take charge of this research project. YEE and his boyfriend NG YUN-SANG pick a quarrel with FUNG and SING when they are carrying excavation work in the zoo. Not wanting to mess with YEE, FUNG prefers to settle the dispute as soon as possible. HUNG sets FUNG a series of riddles but FUNG manages to solve the questions one by one. Now HUNG is left with no excuse to make him stay in Panyu. Realizing that HUNG has grown into a frail old man, FUNG finally offers to stay in Panyu. But to HUNG’s surprise, FUNG is not going to join the garment factory. What he really wants is to follow SING to the zoo and work as an Assistant Manager. FUNG and SING trespass on the acrobatic troupe’s secret training corner, and LAM is once again enraged……
Episode 3
The people in the photo could be the Ten Tigers of Panyu. FUNG tries to find out how these people may look in their old age by using advanced computer technology. He also examines the photo very closely hoping to find some clues from the antiques in the picture. TAN was brought up by LAM’s family. She grew up with LAM and they refer to each other as brother as sister. TAN is appointed to perform a difficult stunt, which irks another acrobatic troupe member YIN KA-PIK. TAN and some other troupe members are sexually harassed by a group of gangsters in a pub. FUNG and SING who are nearby fly off to save the girls from the predicament. A girl called MAY comes to Panyu to look for SANG. FUNG spots the pair and suspects that they are carrying an affair. FUNG and SING find the mobile phone left behind by SANG, in which a lot of love codes from MAY have been saved. YEE has faith in SANG and blames FUNG and SING for being too nosy……
Episode 4
FUNG tricks MAY into appearing. MAY reveals that she has had an affair with SANG for three years and that she has got pregnant with his child. According to her confession, it was her who splashed YEE with glue. YEE is shocked to learn the truth. SANG places the responsibility onto YEE and is resolved to break up with her, which comes as a huge blow to the girl. PIK who is jealous of TAN and her amazing performance frames her for theft. But FUNG is so level-headed that he can eventually prove TAN’s innocence. TAN is however delayed by this incident. LAM is enraged by her lateness and decides to find someone else to replace her in the coming acrobatic show. CHAT reveals to FUNG and YEE the secrets of the Buddha statue although he knows from the very start that the pair are not his next of kin. CHAT used to be a servant for the Third Tiger, a member of the notorious Ten Tigers of Panyu, from whom he heard a lot about robbers……
Episode 5
SING has produced a DVD to express his love for TAN. This has been discovered by some acrobatic troupe members and the news soon reaches LAM. LAM is so angry that he gives SING a hard punch. Despite his decision to punish TAN, LAM is actually very concerned about her. Another troupe member SUNG MIU-SZ realizes that LAM has a special affection for TAN, about which she is a little upset. TAN only sees SING as a friend, and to avoid any further misunderstanding, she asks FUNG to relay the message to him. Knowing that the zoo is going to hire another acrobatic troupe, SING is so worried about TAN’s future and flies off to tell her the news. FUNG hints to SING that TAN has no feeling for him but SING does not seem to get the message. MAN and FUNG discover that the treasures may have something to do with Taiji. FUNG then decides to consult HUNG who knows a lot about Taiji……
Episode 6
The silver egg is an artifact from the eighteenth century. A tiger-shaped pattern is carved on its bottom, which sounds so puzzling to MAN and FUNG. To put on a good show, TAN has spent a lot of time in intensive training, which gives her a number of bruises and wounds. LING gets along well with YEE. To show her support to the girl, LING not only addresses YEE as FUNG’s girlfriend but also buys her a ring as a gift. To FUNG, it is really a nasty trick but he just cannot help it. The tiger-shaped pattern on the silver egg is the symbol of the Ten Tigers but FUNG is absolutely clueless about the relationship between the symbol and the treasures. The Program Manager of the zoo YIU KWOK-KUEN brings a herd of monkeys to the acrobatic troupe’s training corner and throws the place into chaos right afterwards. FUNG manages to drive KUEN off by stratagem but SING points out to TAN that it is he himself who should get the credit……
Episode 7
TAN seems to have lost all confidence in herself. LAM and FUNG try to help her regain her confidence with different approaches. FUNG and YEE have an argument again, during which he mocks her for being dumped and even calls her mad and insane. YEE is enraged while FUNG is also sorry for what he has said. YEE points out that SING has an obvious affection for TAN, so TAN decides to turn him down in a clear way. SING is disappointed to learn about the truth but is still happy to be considered a friend of TAN. SING and YEE have a drinking competition. SING is defeated while YEE is also as drunk as a skunk. Feeling that it will be too dangerous to leave the drunken YEE in the street over the night, FUNG offers to send her home. The next day when she wakes up, YEE is very much afraid that she has been raped by FUNG but she soon finds out that it is just a misunderstanding……
Episode 8
Granny SAM finally awakes from unconsciousness. She feels a little offended when she knows that FUNG and his mates are from Hong Kong. Having learnt about their motive, she refuses to say a word about the jade pendant. FUNG guesses that Granny SAM is from the village nearby. To probe more deeply, he cycles to the village with YEE to have a look. The village chief there reveals that Granny SAM was in league with the Ten Tigers to raid their place. As YEE and FUNG are trying to dig out the truth from Granny SAM, TAN turns up suddenly. TAN is not happy with FUNG and his mates whom, according to her, have been trying to con Granny SAM. CHI purposely damages the boat which carries TAN and SING so that they can never get back to the shore……
Episode 9
According to Granny SAM, the Fourth Tiger mistakenly believed that the villagers had killed his mother and it was deep hatred in his heart which drove him to become a robber and a member of the Ten Tigers. To seek revenge, he came back to rob his village and took Granny SAM away. The other nine Tigers insisted on killing all the women they had kidnapped. To save Granny SAM, the Fourth Tiger had no choice but to pretend to kill her. Before he left, he asked her to wait for his return. Years went by but the Fourth Tiger did not show up. Feeling so disappointed, Granny SAM decided to marry TAN’s grandfather, who was her benefactor. A year later, Granny SAM met the Fourth Tiger again. The Fourth Tiger passed her the jade pendant and assured her that he would come back again no matter what. MAN tells her that the Ten Tigers have all been executed but Granny SAM remains steadfast in her belief that the Fourth Tiger will be back some day……
Episode 10
Granny SAM’s operation turns out to be very successful. She knows from the right beginning that the Fourth Tiger has not left her any message. Despite this, she is still grateful to everyone who has helped her get over her psychological distress. TAN and FUNG go and buy some new bedroom curtains for Granny SAM. Afterwards, they go back home together on the same bicycle like a sweet couple. FUNG falls from a height. TAN tries to soothe his bruise with a boiled egg, during which both of them can feel a special affection for each other. FUNG, SING, TAN and YEE go and make a wish respectively. FUNG suspects that the silver and golden eggs have been booby-trapped. LING becomes more and more fond of YEE and even asks the girl to give her a massage. LAM blames TAN for staying too long with FUNG and SING in her hometown. He punishes TAN and TAN promises to concentrate more on training……
Episode 11
With the clue left in the sword, FUNG manages to find the tomb of the Second Tiger. FUNG takes a photo of the tomb and shows it to SHUN who is a feng shui professional. Having studied the photo for a while, SHUN points out that the feng shui arrangement of the tomb is to make people as contented as they can be. SHUN predicts that SING will fall in love with someone from an exotic place by the end of the year. YEE would like to know if she is the one for FUNG but she has mistakenly taken SING’s birth details for fortune-telling. The divine results make her believe that she and FUNG are a perfect match made in heaven. Fearing that TAN will sooner or later outshine her, PIK makes a deliberate decision to embarrass TAN. LAM points out that there is no team spirit in the troupe and for this reason, all troupe members will have to be punished. MAN has a scan of the eggs and is shocked to discover that there are some liquid explosives inside……
Episode 12
A piece of silk cloth from the 1930s/1940s is found inside the sword. On the cloth are a few ink stains, making it look like a star map. FUNG suspects that someone has deliberately let him find the sword. In fact it is KWAN’s idea to get someone to pose as the Second Tiger’s descendant so that FUNG will have the clue to unravel the secrets of the sword. TAN gets aware that YEE is in love with FUNG and she is so pleased for her. KUEN wants to take a peek of TAN who is getting changed but he ends up catching a fleeting glimpse of PIK instead. PIK has injured her elbow so TAN is called in to replace her. FUNG sends TAN a greeting card to wish her success in her performance, which gives TAN a great thrill. LAM, however, has deep reservations about FUNG’s motive. PIK claims that TAN has replaced her medicines with something else, which accounts for why she is getting weaker and weaker……
